    I respect your opinion there momo. but you do know that free radicals are not caused by your diet. They are made naturally via mistakes in your metabolism or to aid in viral defense in your immune system. They can also come from radiation. my comment was only relating to the relationship between (diet and the 1920’s) and (diet and the present) Obviously obesity does lower a person’s chance of survival but that hasnt changes since the 1920’s. The only difference between the two is..healthcare.

    This is untrue… life expectancy differences and diet do have a correlation. Think about it; what about obesity and life expectancy? Ever heard of “free radicals?” However, you do have a point regarding our innovations in healthcare for without our technology, our life expectancy would dramatically decrease.

    Life expectancy differences have nothing to do with our diet. Only with our innovations in healthcare. People live longer now simply becasue we have doctors and surgeons that are able to prolong life. Something the 1920’s had very little of. Sulfa drugs and opium was about all they would give a person back then.

    Isn’t the life expectancy nowadays much higher than in the 19th century and 1920’s? Diets high in saturated fat have an increased risk of coronary heart diseases, thanks for the tip on coconut oil with saturated fats.

    It doesn’t. I did my own research. Unrefined Cocanut Oil has 90% Saturated Fat. Do not use Cocanut Oil, unless its refined. Refined may have some small chemicals, but I’d rather get the chance of getting cancer than getting fat. Cancer makes you live longer than heart attacks :P
